Ulrike Welsch, immigrated to the United States from Germany. She was the first woman photographer on the staff of the Boston Herald Traveler (1966-72) as well as the Boston Globe (1972-81).
Ms. Welsch spent fifteen intense years as a photo-journalist, contributing bold yet sensitive human interest images to the world of journalism.
Since 1981, Ms. Welsch has been freelancing, specializing in editorial photography, capturing the hidden beauty in places from New England to Mongolia. Her subjects include people from all walks of life, scenic landscapes, nature as well as bustling cities.
Her images are mainly in Color except for a pre-1985 Black & White collection.
